Working farm fields at Chalo estate

Our Story

Rooted in the land, shaped by community.

Chalo is more than a place to stay. It is a working farm, a gathering place, and a story still being written.

A Working Farm

It all starts with the soil

Chalo began as a farm — and it remains one at heart. Long before the first villa was built or the first table was set, the land was being prepared. Rows were planted, animals were raised, and the rhythm of the seasons became the foundation for everything that followed.

Today, the farm produces fruits, vegetables, herbs, eggs, and honey — most of which supply our Harvest Table restaurant. What does not come from our own fields is sourced from neighbouring farmers who share our commitment to honest, sustainable agriculture.

The shortest distance between field and plate

Our kitchen and our farm are in constant conversation. Menus change weekly, sometimes daily, depending on what is ripe, what is ready, and what the season allows. This is not a gimmick — it is simply how food used to be.

Our chefs walk the rows each morning, picking what will appear on the lunch and dinner menus. Herbs are cut fresh. Eggs are collected that morning. Bread is baked before dawn. This is food that carries no pretence — only flavour and care.

Community

Built with people, not just for them

Chalo is more than a hospitality estate. It is a community project. Every villa was built by local hands. Many of the construction workers were women — a deliberate choice that challenged norms and created new opportunities.

Our team comes from the surrounding villages, and many of our suppliers are local farmers. We believe that a business rooted in place should also be rooted in people — creating jobs, sharing skills, and building a future together.

Slow Living

There is no rush here. That is the point.

Chalo was designed for people who want to slow down. No alarms, no itineraries, no pressure to be anywhere but here. Walk the fields at dawn. Read under a tree. Share a long lunch. Watch the sun set from your terrace. The farm keeps its own time — and so should you.
